Covered by Love

On this cool, rainy Spring day, the clouds and the mountains seem to press down on all sides. Beautiful, yet ominous. It is one of those days that could be February instead of early Summer. All around, a somewhat strange day that seemed to exist outside of its season. A day all its own.
Sometimes our lives feel as if we are isolated and out of season. We can lose track of time. We can lose track of ourselves. Sometimes life can feel ominous, pressing down upon us from all sides. The burdens we carry and the challenges we face in the moment can be overwhelming.
In days such as these, we need each other the most.
With all our failures and imperfections, we can still be there for one another. With all our differences and perspectives and opinions, we still hold the amazing ability to see each other through. When we walk each other through such moments, all those differences become much less important. What rises to the top is love. And gratitude. And grace.
We read in scripture that we should, “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.” Being there makes the difference, whether we are the one feeling out of season or the one offering ourselves to others. All our failures and all our needs alike are covered by love.
Peace.
